Pregnancy and childbirth are extremely important events in a woman's life. At The Obstetrics Center, we are committed to providing the best possible care for you and your baby.

Our Services

We provide the following evaluation, testing, treatment, and routine-care services:

Preconception Counseling

  • We encourage you to discuss your pregnancy plans with us before you become pregnant. This is a great time to review risk factors in your personal or family history and identify any needs for testing. This is also a good time to discuss any questions you may have such as use of pre-pregnancy vitamins, diet, genetic testing, or lifestyles changes.

Pregnancy

  • Visits - We will meet with you initially on a monthly basis and then weekly, providing information about your condition as you progress through your pregnancy.
  • Routine Care - We provide all aspects of screening and routine care for the woman and fetus during pregnancy and childbirth including:
    • 1st Trimester Screening
    • Serum Marker Testing
    • Non-Stress Testing
    • Obstetric Sonogram - 4-Dimensional photos of your baby provided
  • High Risk - In high risk pregnancies, we may consult with Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists to provide comprehensive care for you and your baby.

Delivery

  • Traditional Birth or Cesarean Section - We focus on creating a safe and memorable delivery experience depending on the needs of you and your baby.
  • Elective Cesarean Section - We provide this delivery alternative for women who decide to have  an elective Cesarean Section. Most importantly, we will counsel you on the advantages and disadvantages of all the options available.
  • Epidural Anesthesia - Many women prefer to take advantage of epidural anesthesia during labor. We work with anesthesiologists on the hospital staff to provide this service if requested.

Postpartum Care

  • Follow-up Care - After the birth of  your baby, we provide postpartum assessment, education, and contraception assistance, as appropriate.
  • Lactation Consultation - We'll provide you with all findings from the latest research and current information about lactation and breast feeding so that you can make an informed decision about this important aspect of you and your baby's health.
  • Newborn Care - While you'll receive great instruction from the nurses in the hospital, you may feel overwhelmed and forget much of what you are told in the hospital. Relax! We will provide post-discharge care for you and your baby, including assessment, education and initiation of immunization. You can schedule newborn care with our pediatric nurse practitioner, Joni Wells, or with our Family Medicine physicians, Dr. Boynton, Dr. Buse, Dr. Crossnoe, Dr. Hannel, and Dr. May.
